North Kent Construction Skills Project

Throughout the Thames Gateway area of North Kent an ambitious programme of development and regeneration will take place over the next twenty years. The Construction Skills model for the South East forecasts average annual growth rates of more than 5 per cent in the construction industry for the foreseeable future. Growth based on this model would demand an increase in the regional labour force of more than 45,000 people.

Some of the developments are already in full swing; the challenge for NoKCS is to work with employers, training providers and developers to ensure that the industry and the people of North Kent have every opportunity to develop the skills and professions that are needed to share in these exciting new opportunities.
